The collaboration class with the code KOL402 presents the theme "Learning Designer Teacher" which is held on Wednesday (11/10) sore. Pia Adiprima, as Teacher Development Specialist karier.mu, be the resource person for this session. He discussed the profile of the 21st century teacher.
The collaboration class is one of the classes presented at the Archipelago Educator Gathering week (TPN) X. Collaboration class is an initiation class for inviting collaboration from companies, donor agencies, consortium, and organizations related to programs or projects provided to teachers, students, headmaster, supervisor, as well as school.
At the beginning of the session, Pia showed two pictures of a classroom atmosphere and asked participants to look for the differences. The two images are an 80s era classroom and a 20th century classroom. It turns out, not much difference.
“Four decades have passed, However, classroom learning provides the same picture. Education should transform for the better. This transformation is related to what is taught and how it is taught,” said Pia.
According to Pia, Indonesian education needs learning designer teachers to carry out this transformation, namely teachers who are able to create conditions, situation, and the best environment for students to develop.
He quotes educationists and book writers, Sir Kenneth Robinson, who says that teachers are like gardeners and students are like plants. Plants can actually grow by themselves.
However, plants can grow well if the environment provides the right support and stimulation. Just as students need.
3 21st Century Teacher Profile
On this occasion, Pia also provides the profile of an instructional designer teacher. According to him, a learning designer teacher needs to have a reflective nature, so that he can continue to strive to provide meaningful learning for his students.
"Besides that, Teachers also need to have an independent nature. Teachers always look for opportunities to design learning rather than worrying about obstacles,he explained.
“Third profile, Teachers must also have a creative nature. He is not afraid to fail to create progress in education,continued Pia.
In order to support prospective teachers and teachers to have these three profiles, Pia explained, Karier.Mu collaborated with the Cikal Teachers Campus to launch the program Teacher Talent.
Alumni of the Teacher Talent program will have the profile of an independent learning teacher, including abilities as a 21st century teacher. Besides that, they will also be guaranteed to teach at partner schools, including Cikal School, Independent Student School, Growing Schools, Indonesian Core Quantum School, and many others.
