
Commemorating World Teachers' Day, SMBC Indonesia holding hands Foundation Learning Teacher (GBF) and Komunitas Guru Belajar Nusantara roll out workshop "Innovative Learning and Strong Financial Management" on Saturday (5/10) in Jakarta and Sunday (6/10) in Yogyakarta and Makassar.
This workshop is part of the Financially Smart Creative Teacher bootcamp (GKCF) which has been going online for a month. In an online session, Participants learn to manage finances and create teaching media for students with principles design thinking.
Meanwhile at the workshop, Participants were challenged to test prototypes of teaching media related to financial literacy. Teaching media is not intended for use by students but by fellow teachers.
“This study scholarship is Bank BTPN's commitment to be a friend of teachers. We care about education and we believe that the spearhead of educational progress is teachers and we want to be with you," say Dody Safrizal, Area Business Leader Pension Business & Area Head Jakarta in his speech.
The workshop topic was born out of Bank BTPN and YGB's concerns regarding teachers' difficulties in managing personal finances. The low average income of teachers encourages them to develop a protean career so that they have various sources of income. However, This is not accompanied by financial management skills.

“When we opened registration for this scholarship, his enthusiasm was so extraordinary that 9000 more registrants. We are amazed at the enthusiasm for learning, Mr/Mrs teacher. I hope that those of you who have the opportunity to study here will pass on your knowledge to other teachers who have not had the opportunity," said Dody.
Trial of Financial Literacy Teaching Media
In testing, Participants were divided into small groups to introduce the financial literacy teaching media they had designed, which is then assessed by fellow group members.
Intan Irawati, participants from MAN 15 Jakarta, expressed his feelings of gratitude because he can now create more meaningful teaching media. He narrated, after attending the GKCF online session, he has started making teaching media with design thinking for his students.
“Changes have occurred in my students, they are more enthusiastic about studying physics. The students were initially more silent, I'm starting to have the courage to express my opinion. I also feel like I have become closer to the students, Students no longer hesitate to raise difficulties," said Intan.

“Now I am challenged to create teaching media that can help fellow teachers. Hopefully the media I made useful and high effectiveness so that it can help improve the ability to manage finances for its users,he continued.
He recounted the experience of his friend who once came crying, Turns out it was because it was entangled in pinjol. Intan doesn't want this to happen again to the people around her, so he was very enthusiastic when he received a challenge from the GKCF program.
After trial, there was a learning session on creating content led by Ria Farrabila, teacher content creator whose teaching videos often go viral on Instagram. This session invites participants to always share good practices, including the practice of creating teaching media on social media. The aim is to inspire other teachers who have not had the opportunity to become GKCF scholarship recipients. (Yosi)
