
West Coast, 10 March 2025. In the midst of the challenges of basic education in coastal areas, teachers and principals in West Coastal Regency now have new space to grow and learn from each other. Through the creation program (Collaboration for Indonesian Children's Education) Efforts to strengthen the quality of contextual learning and in favor of students are moved collectively.
The creation program is a joint initiative funded by the Global Partnership for Education (GPE) and carried out by the Indonesian Education Partner Consortium, which consists of Save the Children, Foundation Learning Teacher, and supported by the Ministry of Elementary and Secondary Education, Ministry of Religious, and Bappenas.
The launch of this program is a strategic step, Because the challenges faced are not only related to infrastructure and accessibility, but also how the teacher can understand and respond to student learning needs appropriately. Based on the report card of West Coastal Education 2024 Mom Basyaiban, The Chairperson of the Learning Teacher Foundation stated "From the results of the measurement of literacy competencies and numeration of children at the basic level showing the need for special attention, This is not enough just to use socialization, and seminars."
It also adds “Therefore through the creation program in the West Coastal Regency, We ensure that educators do not only receive training, but also empowered to collaborate, Sharing good practices, and jointly create contextual solutions to the challenges of education in the regions. Teacher Learning Foundation believes that teachers who continue to learn and are empowered can be the collective leader of change.”
Four Directions of Impact that KREASI is Aiming at
The KREASI program is designed to encourage transformation in four main areas. First, Improve the competence of teachers and principals related to the use of the curriculum and assessment appropriately and according to the needs of students. Curriculum adjustments are not just a matter of following regulations, But the question of understanding what and how students learn. In this context, Teachers and school heads need to understand how to translate the curriculum into meaningful learning experiences.
Second, Increasing policies and practices of equivalent basic skills teaching. Because basic skills such as literacy and numeration are the main foundations for students to learn throughout their lives.
Third, Increasing policy and leadership practices that are fair and effective in teaching and learning. Principals and supervisors are not only tasked with regulating administration, But be a learning leader (instructional leaders). Kreasii is expected to encourage a culture of reflexology and collaboration among teachers.
Fourth, Increasing equivalent to child protection policies and practices and prevention of various risks. "This is important, Even our education report cards show that there are schools that despite having limited facilities, still able to show the results of high literacy and numeration of students because of a safe environment and good classroom management,"Said Maman.
